ANGLES Meetings:
Bonn 5-6 April 2004

Summary

The first ANGLES meeting took place in Bonn (MPIfR), 5-6 April 2004. This meeting was primarily to give network members an opportunity to know each other and to say a bit about the science that interests them. The PIs also had a chance to tackle some of the adminstration matters relating to the network. In addition, on 7 April there was be a meeting dedicated to the lens B0218+357.

Travel & accomodation

If you will be attending this meeting, please email Richard Porcas and let him know which nights you will require accommodation. Attendees will be staying in the Hotel Mozart, conveniently located close to both the main railway station (Hbf) and MPIfR. Rooms cost 70 Euros per night including breakfast. Richard already has an allocation of rooms for this meeting so there is no need for participants to book with the hotel directly.

For those arriving at the nearest airport (Cologne - known within Germany as "Köln-Bonn") there is a bus (no. 670) to the Bonn Hbf. A taxi will cost about 35-40 Euros. In addition to a number of national carriers (BA, Lufthansa) the budget carriers Germanwings and Hapag-Lloyd Express offer a number of direct flights to Cologne. There are also trains from Dusseldorf (ca. 1 h) and Frankfurt (ca. 1h50m) Airports to Bonn Hbf.

Workshop dinner

The workshop dinner will take place on the monday evening (from 19.00), at Noldens restaurant in Endenich (10 mins walk from the MPIfR).
